Excellent Online Science Teaching is a great how to guide for online teaching. Very precise instructions are delivered in a conversational tone making it easy reading for those of us unfamiliar with online instruction. The books begins with the basics of what types of computers, memory, etc. required. This is most helpful Robin Battershell, Superintendent, Belton ISD

  3. Mary Scott, M.D.

THANK YOU for writing Excellent Online Science Teaching: Effective Strategies for a Successful Semester. I wish someone had handed me this book when I developed my first online science course. It would have saved me much anxiety and indecision. This is a necessary book as other books concentrate on online delivery only, without considering the challenges of teaching science. It is easy to forget that combining household chemicals for “kitchen chemistry” can be dangerous. I wish I had written this, but I fear I would not have written it in such an easy to follow easy to read manner. Mary Scott, M.D., Professor of Biology, Dodge City Community College

  4. Michael Dalman, Geology Professor

Even as a 12-year veteran of teaching blended and fully online geology courses, I found Excellent Online Science Teaching: Effective Strategies for a Successful Semester offered new tips, strategies and methods that I could easily incorporate in my classes. It is a great resource for both veteran and new professors alike, offering a smorgasbord of strategies and ideas that can easily be adapted to any blended or fully online science courses. The book is chock full of well thought out advice and key tips to make you a better instructor in the on-line world of teaching. As a previous colleague of Ms. Karels at Blinn College, I had the privilege of having a front row seat, watching as she brought her passion for biology into her online courses. In her book, she brings this same passion. I will be recommending this book to all of our new (and old) distance education science teachers. Michael Dalman, Geology Professor, Blinn College , Brenham Texas
