Readers say….

“What is great about this book is that it is written in a conversational tone, as if Dr. Greive were sitting with a colleague at a coffee shop, sharing his secrets about getting through the first (or fifth, tenth, or twentieth) college semester. I am certain I would have benefited from this book years ago when I first started teaching. Today, I am a seasoned adjunct faculty member, and I still learned from this book.”—Dr. Doreen Lewis, book review, AdjunctNation.com.

“Anyone could pick up this book and feel more confident in the classroom….”—Amazon.com review

Adjunct or No–If You Teach, Get This Book!

Couldn’t put it down. Went back and yellow high lighted almost the entire text. I “taught” two semesters as adjunct and loved it. Real job took me elsewhere or I’d still be there–loved it. NOW I get Grieve’s book and would have paid double for it back then. Indeed, going into my third read I’m deciding to put in my app in several of the many colleges here. His guidance is excellent, with so many alternative moves for different moments. Thanks Donald!

Short and to the point, Teaching Strategies is perfect for busy adjunct faculty who don’t have a lot of time to read more in-depth teaching books. Anyone could pick up this book and feel more confident in the classroom. Some suggestions are a bit predictable, but this book is more about common sense teaching tips than high brow research.

Teaching Strategies and Techniques for Adjunct Faculty

This book was not too long and not too short. It was very helpful. I teach college level business courses at some of the local Community Colleges in my area and I found some helpful information in this book.

  4. Daniel R.

While I would recommend this book to adjunct faculty who are looking for some solid insights into teaching, I wish it had been a bit longer. The book left me wanting more.
